Michael Patrick Murphy Born 1955 and still kicking' it.
I was born in 1955, I'm proudest of my writing and my founding of the world's first aerobics instructor training organization, The Aerobics Academy, back in 1982.
However, my original talents were in the field of art, which culminated in figure drawing class at Art Center in Los Angeles, California. I've always loved art, and loved collecting and selling it, too. I was one of three popular artists in high school. I designed the pattern on my first surfboard that I made when I was twelve. In junior high, a few cartoonists impressed me and I did a lot of drawings in that style. In Europe, at 15, I was understandably fascinated with the female figure and got to be pretty good at drawing. The medieval cities and castles also gave me plenty of subject matter. As a history buff, I painted military miniatures, too. That paid for my surfing in high school. When I moved to Lake Tahoe at 21, my art went more commercial, doing boot hangers and event posters for local businesses and entertainers.
After that, my life branched out into new areas, and I only applied my art to my own business adventures. Only recently, staying on Maui, I started dabbling with my art. Back in Northern California, I may have the largest private collection of art works, and now it's all for sale so I can retire permanently with my sweetheart on Maui.
So take your time as I fill up this website with new additions. Show off your character and leave no wall blank at your home. Displaying fine art will easily make a difference in your life. Many of my works are very reasonably priced. You don't have to break the bank. ;-)
